The story behind the print

Dabu begins with mud. A paste is pressed onto the cloth with wooden blocks, and wherever it sits, the indigo can never reach. Wash it away and the pattern appears in soft, uneven lines, a print that remembers the hand that made it.

We took that story and gave it a modern, quiet shape, something to wear, use and keep, with the patience of the original still in it. This design is inspired by the tradition and printed with modern methods.
