Bagh paisley, bold yet refined.
This design is inspired by Bagh, the hand block-printing tradition from the town of Bagh in Madhya Pradesh. There, printers press carved wooden blocks into red and black, one impression at a time, then wash the cloth in the river. The paisley, or buta, is one of India's best-loved motifs, a symbol of growth and continuity.
We've brought it onto a sturdy, reusable canvas tote for books, markets, cafés and everyday carry. A thoughtful gift for anyone who loves Indian art. Read the story of Bagh →

The story behind the print
On the banks of the Baghini river, printers press carved wooden blocks into red and black, one impression at a time. Then the cloth is washed in the river, whose water is said to make the colours glow. You can feel the rhythm of hands and water in every print.
We took that story and gave it a modern, quiet shape, something to wear, use and keep, with the patience of the original still in it. This design is inspired by the tradition and printed with modern methods.
