The story behind the print
Kalamkari means “pen work”: stories, flowers and trees drawn onto cotton with a bamboo pen, or printed from carved wooden blocks. The colours come from roots, bark and leaves. It is slow cloth, made to be looked at closely.
We took that story and gave it a modern, quiet shape, something to wear, use and keep, with the patience of the original still in it. This design is inspired by the tradition and printed with modern methods.
