The story behind the print

Long before there were galleries, stories were painted on temple walls. Kerala’s mural painters worked with natural pigments from minerals, plants and lamp-black, filling palace and temple walls with flowing lines, lotus ponds and peacocks. This print carries a little of that painted wall into everyday wear.

We took that story and gave it a modern, quiet shape, something to wear, use and keep, with the patience of the original still in it. This design is inspired by the tradition and printed with modern methods.
