The story behind the print
“Pichwai” means “that which hangs at the back”: large cloths painted by hand over days and hung behind Shrinathji in the temple at Nathdwara, changed with the seasons. The lotus is one of its best-loved motifs. Here it is a small moment of stillness, to wear every day.
We took that story and gave it a modern, quiet shape, something to wear, use and keep, with the patience of the original still in it. This design is inspired by the tradition and printed with modern methods.
