The story behind the print
Before the indigo and madder ever meet the cloth, it is printed, covered in mud, dyed and washed, again and again. Khatri families carried this craft from Sindh to Kutch and Barmer around the 16th century, and printed it on both sides. To wear Ajrakh is to carry that patience with you.
We took that story and gave it a modern, quiet shape, something to wear, use and keep, with the patience of the original still in it. This design is inspired by the tradition and printed with modern methods.
